Botanical Prints in the DC House of Design

Charting Nature donated two botanical prints to the DC Design House this year.  Open April 13^th to May 11^th in Northwest Washington, DC, the DC Design house is a non-profit house that showcases the work of the area’s top interior design professionals with all proceeds benefiting the Children’s National Health System. Since its conception in 2008, the DC Design House has raised over $1 million for the Children’s National Health System.

This year, Charting Nature was contacted by designers showcasing their skills in the DC Design House for this year’s fundraiser for two peony antique flower prints for the guest bedroom. These flower prints are currently playing their part in a “classic and timeless” style for the room to make any visitor feel right at home.

The two framed prints--a crimson peony and a deep blood peony flower print--compliment a room of soft aqua and mint tones augmented with bursts of peach and coral for the color scheme with fabrics of subtle luxury.  Like the botanical prints, the room whispers luxury without screaming about it.  Over the course of the month it will be open, thousands of people will tour the DC House of Design and Donate to the Children's National Health System, which has been caring for children since 1870.  The organization has its roots in the Civil War when it was founded to feed and car for war orphans and continues today serving the DC Metro Area with over seven outpatient centers, over a thousand nurses and 550 physicians with national recognition of excellence.
