Butterflies
Originally, the name for the butterfly was flutter-by since that’s what it does. Unfortunately, an entrepreneur came along in the early 1900s and trademarked the name for a machine he had invented. The Monarch butterfly, flaps its wings about 720 times per minute while traveling more than 2,500 miles between Canada and Mexico every year. That's almost as many flaps as in a celebrity gossip magazine.
